Three dancers perform with their backs turned

Festival Cuerpo Romo

Art direction: Elías Aguirre

About the show

Bluff body refers to the wear and tear of the body in contact with the ground. Dancing in the city produces a certain type of dancer who becomes accustomed to the hardness of the tarmac and round like a stone. Malleability is a particular characteristic of contemporary dance: it’s needed when we work in the street, when we intervene in spaces or when we ask audiences questions. "Bluff Body" speaks of a duality: wear and tear and experience, of the inevitable erosion of the body due to the passage of time and friction with hard materials. Of the learning process of a certain type of resistant and experienced dancer.

In its 8 editions - held in Madrid with two extensions in Alicante (Torrevieja) - the "Bluff Body" Festival has always put on a broad and representative programme of high quality and free of charge to all audiences.

Performances (solos, duos, trios....) by established and up-and-coming choreographers; performances in unique venues; activities for families; live music sessions with dancers (improvisations) and professional workshops, among other activities.
* For a family audience.
