About the show
Aboard a space shuttle, helmet in hand, a cosmonaut. Cometa is an unexpected traveler who, through her curiosity and discoveries, invites us to look at our surroundings with fresh eyes. With her, we embark on a galactic adventure to rediscover and marvel at the force of gravity, the possibilities of movement, and the power of empathy. Geometry, play, and the speed of light. The universe, imagination, and interstellar travel. And above all, we will celebrate the joy of having found each other!
The choreographic work of Roser López Espinosa combines strong physicality with subtlety, acrobatic elements, and a love for detail, creating an imaginative world full of playfulness, refined poetry, and a touch of humor. Trained at MTD / Amsterdam University of the Arts (Netherlands) and having danced with Àngels Margarit/Cia Mudances, Cesc Gelabert, Iago Pericot, and filmmaker Isaki Lacuesta, among others, her work as a creator has been present on the international stage since 2006.
She has created large-scale productions such as L’estol for the National Dance Production and Trama (Best Choreography at the 2019 XXII Critics’ Awards). Cometa, her production for children and family audiences, co-produced by the German network Vorpommern tanzt an, has captivated audiences of all ages with 190 performances worldwide.
She has been invited as a choreographer by international companies such as Skånes Dansteater (Sweden), Scottish Dance Theater (United Kingdom), Zagreb Dance Company (Croatia), and MiR Company (Germany) and has collaborated with circus companies like Compagnie XY (France).
López Espinosa is an associate artist at the La Caldera creation center in Barcelona, a resident artist at Mercat de les Flors (2018-21), and a resident exchange artist (2022-23) at NTCH – National Theater Concert Hall in Taipei (Taiwan). Her work has been showcased at major international festivals across Europe, North and South America, the Middle East, and Asia.
